CES Vestamager, Runde 10
A quick summary of the last ringing day on Wednesday 12th of August.
I spent the night right next to net 2 in my hammock, which has become a peaceful tradition for me when I join the ringing. At 5:00 I met with Oscar and Olivia and while opening the nets we were hoping for a great day with bets ranging from 17 to 28 birds for the total of the day. It was the perfect ringing conditions, no wind at all and clear skies. However, we soon realized that the birds were simply not there and we ended up with the lowest number so far this season: only 7 birds in total!
1 great tit
2 chiffchaff
1 willow warbler; recapture
1 tree pipit
1 common whitethroat
1 great spotted woodpecker
Since we had very few birds we could spend plenty of time examining each of them, which was good practice for Oscar and Olivia! Thanks for your help 🙂
Next ringing day is August 23 and Amanda will again be in charge of it.
Best regards,
Pablo
